The rubber band phenom is typical in a lot of racing games, especially when it is a limited field. So I can't discount them on that.
The bonus cars for exploration is new, though it has given me the benefit of beating a bunch of the 'jumps' & 'speed traps' that you have set.
The speed traps are a nod to the 'own the road,' nice but not as nice as the extra races the 'own the road' was in BP. The addition to the billboards as jump spots is pretty nice, I will take that over the ballet of stunt races that was before. Heck the overall integration of the AutoLog [which Criterion pulled from BP to the NFS] is really really slick, what with the limited billboards above everything showing best scores/times/jumps. Does an effort in making up for all the lost content in the form of challenges @ roads.. but they added cops that give chase so .. meh.
I haven't delved into multiplayer, mainly because I have only played it for an hour or two, just last night, starting at midnight.
BTW that race you spent an hour on is on my AutoLog as 'beat hadaka' he spent xx number of times running this race. Heh.
Right now my only beef is how fragile the cars seem, I used to be able to shunt off of any car I pleased with the right angle. Then again this could be because I am in a glorified go-cart of an
Ariel Atom, which I plan to ride until its 100%... or I find the Koenigsegg or Raptor.. or just switch to the BAC Mono or Viper. Meh probably the Atom or the Mono until they are at least a few unlocks in or I get tired of their semblance to papercraft.
