In 1968, US Marines at the Green River Firebase were overrun by NVA forces. Due to the rainy season, air support and heavy armor were useless. The only thing standing between the NVA amphibious units and the US supply lines was a small USN PBR group based on the Green River area of the Mekong delta.

This map emphasizes the use of the PBR in it's designed role. Patrolling the rivers looking for troop and weapon movements. Many of the flags on this map must be reached on foot, and those foot paths are dangerously close to the watchful eyes of US Navy PBR crews. The river areas are wide enough to actually use a PBR and not beach it after 5 seconds as is the case on most current BFV maps. The NVA units as well get a PBR-type patrol boat for use against the USN detachment. There is a single neutral flag on the map at a tribal relic, controlling this flag gives the USA a transport Huey at the damaged firebase. If the NVA gains control of the relics, they recieve an amphibious tank. Either of these units can turn the tide of battle and require specific player kits to come into play.

Looks very cool. It's in rotation on the Test Map server, so check it out.

Thanks guys. I'd love to get a lot of feedback on this one. Personally I feel that the map layout/ design is really cool for gameplay. From the outset, I was building it with that in mind. Because of this, my maps never reach the level of detail that LoU and Raze's designs do, so I'm worried about it being a little too empty/ basic. Hopefully you guys can see if you think the same and give me some ideas on how to "fill out" things better.

Never be too basic.... Ghost in the Darkness seems to be a hit and it was very basic 'cept for the tunnel.

Heheh... I just saw that my flag at the USN PBR base is floating... ah well ez fix

Updates for Green River. Awaiting final new playtesting after the next BCV release.

Left to do: Finish adding in area specific sounds, Work out a bleed system for the flags. Test player balance. Add custom PBR skin, Custom US barracks skin.

New Mini-Map, what do you think? I'd appreciate honest input on this since it looks pretty different, think other groups would like it?

That is a very sweet minimap. Great job on it.

minimap looks awesome Breaky. Too often the mappers don't do anything with these and they are unusable.

Very Cool! Clean and easy to understand. Great Job..

    Dude! That minimap ROCKS!

It adds a very professional touch to the map. I really like the green lines. It's just too cool.

New version is up for testing!

Ok... did anyone actually play the new version as it is on our test server???? I gave the same version to the guys at Doomlabs also to test and they said it loaded on the server, but the only one to try it so far kept crashing to desktop when the map loaded. He thinks it might be a problem on his end though, but I wanted to see if this happened to anyone else to make sure.

Crap. Haven't even had a chance to look at your map yet. I will try to do that tonight, along with Hitpawz map. With no TWL matches to prep for, I should have some additional time to test maps this week.
