From reading the Water mesh thread, I thought I would start a convo about the Geometry scaling.

First, Just so you can find the object you want to scale, delete it and add it again, so it is at the bottom of your Standardmesh list. This is just so its easy to find.

Second, If you Extract your map, Then do the changes, The Scaled Objects will show up in Battlecraft.

But when I tried to edit certain objects it didnt work at all. ie..The Hastings Temple and the Pagoda. They showed up the same, no matter what I did. I really wanted smaller versions of these. And it worked in BCV, but not sure why it didnt work in BFV.

If you make something Bigger, I made the Gate_02 piece really big, and when you stood on it and jumped, It was like an Unreal Jump pad. Very crazy. This can happen to any object you scale bigger.

Your best bet is to tweak what you want and see what works. Raze, I thought you might be able to stretch the Main Bridge on OHG, so you didnt have to use 2. But Im not sure how that'll mess with the physics, since its not getting bigger, just longer, It might not mess anything up.

Im still playin around with it. Ill post all the goodies.

One Goodie: Ladders will be fixed!!! Changing its scaling to 1 / 0.70 / 1 worked without a flaw.

I read this on doomlab and I don't really like that it alters the physics. In a low grav map, that would work cool, but all of the sudden being launched in any direction would be a bit intrusive and probably get more than a few "WTF?"'s I would do what DSlayer said and upsize it as a custom object in 3DS.

However, I wonder if you can make an X-strethed big giant freaking launch ramp for jeeps. OH MAN! I just thought about that. Busy night, i can tell it's going to be. Yes Yoda, touch your pee pee I will.

I have this idea for a map that is composed of one US building, scaled up by about 20X with choppers and jets and full on bases. Like TFC's ratz series of maps that I can't stop loving. But, I heard it acts crazy whack funky. Like the same odd physics. But that's ok cause I look like McHammer on crack, Humpface.

Too many techies around here. We know it's never the computers fault, only the person behind it. 😛

The physic change only happens if u change ALL of the numbers. Ive scaled the bridge to fit OHG just to try, and it worked with no problems to the physics, as I only changed the last number.

So change what works for you and leave what dosent. Ive made some really cool looking sh*t so far.

    Longer walls 1 / 1 / 1.5
    Smaller ladders 1 / 0.75 / 1
    Headruin Jumppads 1.50 / 1.50 / 1.50 and 4 / 4 / 4
    Xtra long bridge 1 / 1 / 2
    larger temple pieces 1.50 / 1.50 / 1.50 and 2 / 2 / 2

And all that stuff works and looks great.

Uh Oh! LoU's on a roll...... I can't wait to see what you do with this new knowledge. :-)

Heres a screeny of that new bridge.

Raze, At first I thought because of your shadowing, you wouldnt be able to use it, but it actually lines up great. You would only have to lower that one hump in the water. Either way Hanoi Garden is gonna kick ass.

Now where are you doing this? You mentioned standardmesh above. I'm guessing staticobjects?

Scratch that, plus using the same technology I've created some tomb stones as well for the cemetery.

Here are some example tombstones.. hehehehehe

    Hell yea!!!

Question? How did you get your texture to be centered? I edited that wall texture, and it double / mirrored my pic. Is it cuz u scaled it down, or did u just put half a pic on there and let it fix itself?

    Looks really cool.

Half pic and let it fix itself.. :-)

    heheh..

Very nice LOu and Raze, yep it was me posting at Dooms, tried the custom object bit but had problems with the texture. That brige looks Nice 🙂 makes for some interesting stuff ehh.
