I wanted to try and duplicate a picture I found, and this is my first draft after about 2 days.

Note: Some things are a bit darker than the original. Like the wood supports under the building and the sky. It's almost like an Inverted version. But I work with what I got.

    Original:

    Mine:

After a week or so I think it'll be reallly tight.

Given the limitations of the software you are working with LoU, that looks awesome. Especially for being an early draft.

ThanX Sarge, I really appreciate that. And yeah it will look better with time, and the rest of the map will be a few other pics I have. I'll post when up-dated.

No ego boosting, just a lil recognition, heh

Koneo one of the links on that page has 2 pics I am using.

Second one down on the right, and the 3rd from the bottom is the pic I posted. Its just a differant angle, and a differant time. Alot more leaves in the water. Good find.

Hahah I wish I knew. ive been getting alot of help from DoomSayer and Dirty Commie from Doomlab. So hopefully I will be able to learn how to do all the shit I keep asking everyone to do for me. lol

So far WinRFA Hates me, and it dosent want me to succeed in any of my goals. I hate lines of type with a F*#king Passion.

try the RFA tools that come with the BFV mod utilities. It's not command line driven and is easier for some people (me).

Ask Raze specific questions. I'm sure he would be willing to help you. I just don't know anything about this stuff.

yeah i can help a bit, we just need to figure out a way to get these files back and forth. I know these can get VERY large. The current map I am doing is 60 mb without anything special. I won't do more than one at a time though.

I have an FTP that we can use to "Hand-off maps" I dont mind giving you my password. Just dont be haxing my Award winning website. lmao

And for the Map Size issue, your gonna love this.

If you use the "Copy Level To" option in Battlecraft, It will make your map file size smaller!!! So simple and soo kick ass.

So just copy your level as a Temporary Name, It will shrink a bit, then Copy that level back to the original name, and it should shrink some more.

I heard the reason for this, Is WinRfa adds a bunch of blank spots in your map that make it huge, and when u "copy level to" it's supposed to pretty much Defrag your map.

Try it out, and see if it makes a differance.

As strange as it sounds it works... I guess it's to be expected when you realize how messed up BCV is anyways. I was always wondering about why I would unpack my 3MB RFA file and then repack it at 12MB.

We can talk on this privately if you want. Just keep in mind, all my sends and recieves will go on at work for me. I can't imagin sending a 50 mb file from home.... Still ticks me off that I am a 30 minute fix from having DSL but SBC hasn't made the initiative to do it.

ATOMM or someone with godlike powers, can you copy lou's post to the custom maps sections so he gets the posting credit? This is a good tip!

As much as I'd like to, I cant take credit. That goes to Doomsayer.

Im glad to know it worked for ya.

As for the FTP. I'll pm the info.

The only thing to watch out for are your file associations in many of your .con's. Make sure that they reflect the new name that you assigned to your "copy to" version or that copy will reflect all the changes you make to the original and won't show anything you do to the copy itself. I've had this happen twice and the only time it didn't was when I did a "copy to" of a copy. You can use the archive editor in either BC App. to go through and check the files. If one of them is fine, then they should all be. Just make sure you check a file that does, in fact, show some sort of folder location for your map.

Good tip Hitpawz. I will check that out.
