Some people that do a gaming podcast I listen to play PS1 and it really sounds like a hoot.
My only issue is it's Sony.... they have (at least in the past) massive security issues - so beware if you use a cash shop or other means of direct connection from you to them with a CC or bank info on file.
The did add PayPal to the approved method of payment so that "should be" a good buffer.
it is beta...I can see the issue with a "powerful PC". Is he a fanboy of PS? fanboys of any product tend to fall in either of the extremes when a new product comes out.
Definitely worrisome but it is still in BETA and a lot could change. Only time will tell.
So I got access to the BETA. It is pretty fun, my beast of a machine has some lag issues, but not sure if it is on my end or the game's end. I only played for a couple of hours and it basically feels like BF2142 only a hell of a lot larger.
Should be a really good game especially if they stick with the F2P model.
A little FYI, If you tweet @planetside2 with a witty comment or some type of roleplaying comment about the game, they might send you a beta key instead of waiting for more beta invite waves.
I have been having an absolute blast in this game. If you still want to get access to the BETA you can either tweet at @planetside2 or signup at planetside-universe.com and use the BETA exchange tool to get a key.
I am on Thebe server. Player name "Hadaka". I have joined an outfit called Sentinels and usually play with them via TeamSpeak. I can jump on our TeamSpeak when we are both on and sorta show you the ropes.
YA, of course nothing is easy, its taken me this long to get to DL....they kept giving me a red screen saying cannot process request at this time. should be playing by tonight.

Canada DOES have it's perks....but high speed internet is not on the list.
Yes, Canada may have it's perks, but at the end of the day...you still have to live in Canada =P
'MERICA F#@$ YEAH!

Hadaka is right, theres going to be a curve....alot of things im not used to.
Yes, the game is 10x better with team work or finding a Zerg to roll with. I have been playing the game a hell of a lot and only now can I really enjoy just finding a group of people to follow and sorta "solo".
It is a little more Run'n'Gun than BF3 until you get better. The whole Cert (upgrade points) system is a little confusing and because it is a BETA there isn't much explanation on what weapons do and/or attachments do. Hell one discription for an attachment is "Forward Grip: Attaches a forward grip to the gun" Well thanks!
And I am not joking on the learning curve...it is steep and extremely long, but if you ever want to jump on with me I can help show you the ropes to make it much much easier.
