I am excited about DoD:Source, but I read something that has me concerned. It seems it will be released with 4 maps. $20 for 4 maps? That strikes me as a bit high.
I have also read to expect more maps down the road, but 4 maps to start with? I hope this isn't true. I don't care how beautiful they look, 4 maps will get boring quickly.
Duck, you are missing the point. I'm sorry you are not happy with BF2, but everyone else here is. I was expecting more from DoD, but I just found out there are only 4 maps and I have to spend $20 just to get those. Well, I am disappointed.
I still plan on checking it out, but I am not near as excited as I was.
No I missed no point Atomm, that's my point exactly! I was expecting allot from BF2 and got dicked instead.
It does not matter if you have 1000 maps on the release, if the game does not live up to your expectations, then what good is it? Those 4 maps may be the cats ass and fun as hell to play or they may suck more than BF2... you never know.
Would this make you feel better? Bf2 cost $49.95 you get 12 (suck) maps - cost per map = $4.16 DoD cost $20.00 you get 4 (?) maps - cost per map = $5.00
Total difference DoD costs $0.21 more per map.
I'll let DoD come out and like I did with BF2, see if people like it. If it looks like it might be fun, I'll spring for the $20.00 with no expectation like I had with BF2. That was my mistake with BF2. I expected too much, received too little and listened to others to closely. I wanted to play with the clan too much and thought I was missing out on something special.
I will not be wearing my Rose colored jaded glasses this time when (and if) I purchase DoD.
