Perhaps you should change the gametype to the 3rd timed mode. You play each side and whoever does faster wins like Assault on UT.

Would vary the game play and gain more experience quicker.

    Isn't that called stopwatch?

I would be up for that.....

Remember, the whole game is linear..... I'm concerned that it's going to get boring quickly....

Not too sure about that myself yet. I've only put in maybe 4-5 hrs on it so far, but I'm still kinda confused on most aspects of it. I figure the more we learn it, the harder it will get to beat opponents that are getting past the learning curve also. I find I like this 10x's more than anything EA has put out, simply because it runs smooth. I can't believe how bad BF and especially 2142 played compared to this.

This is what 2142 could have been. Also think a full server head to head on an objective. I think its going to get quite intense, especially when the other maps are released.

There are too many functions/keybinds, but I think its just a matter of moving beyond BF into something more like UT' AS and ONS modes. I would have preferred more directional movements, but I understand this is more of battlefield assimilation instead.

Personally I'm really just looking forward to Nov/Dec's offering of UT3. I'm probably going to preorder it as soon as the demo comes out. AOWL is offering the demo server free until the retail version hits the shelves.
They are doing the same for QW:ET, btw.

Lexx likes it, which clinches it for me. This game will not be near the success that BF2 was. 🙂

I'm saying it like a joke, but yeah, I mean it.

Comeon Doc, I'm just trying to get you all pumped up 🙂 But then again, its no secret I've hated Ea's programming since waaaaay back. Great game, shitty greedy developer.

I have everything set to high or close to it, gamma low, brightness low, and like damn, it loads damn near instantly and your at the limbo screen. Last night I battled it out with 8 pubbers, took engineer because no one else would build that damn bridge, but the point was without my grb team I was unable to get it up. I had someone sniping me with a rail gun no matter what I tried to do.

No worries tho, I grabbed a tank and drove it UP THE HILL and crunched his ass 🙂 I love the physics in this game as compared to BF. These vehicles have BALLS, quick to repair, and take a hell of alot of rockets. Adversely, an assault rifle can drop them almost as quick as the AT rockets. I absolutely love it. I also like the rewards building during the match and dropping by the next round. I like the fairness in that.

What kind of problems are you guys experiencing?
I didn't have any with the Beta, but I haven't played much with the new Demo version yet.
By the time I got it loaded on Fri Nite everyone was gone! 🙁

What I don't like is that I can't put a specific KEY to a weapon like I can in BF2.
Mouse3 and it's a knife to the back or Mouse4 and I've got the machine gun back like that without having to choose it from the menu! (or get killed trying)

As for the linear aspect, I figure the other maps will have completely different objectives.. well apart from the usual place mines, destroy the turret, and capture the forward spawn. I'm also hoping there will be a decent map editor, and by decent I mean nothing like the confusing mess the BF2 editor was, and more the logical but powerful editor like UT2K4 had. The same goes for the editor for TF2, but given it's nature I doubt it'll be a horrible mess like BF2's was. Goodness that thing was a steaming pile. Makes me pity all the modders out there. EA, like many other BF2 related things, didn't exactly have anything working properly for most of the game's life cycle.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. But we all had our gripes about the game. BTW, Battlefield Pirates 2 is fun as hell.

But since I've joined the GRB I've had no chances to show off my 3d skills/map making skills. Be nice to get back to hobbying in 3d again. Heck, I've barely done anything since back in the Decent 3 days. Barely dabbled in the UT2K4's editor after I learned it, but that was due to personal issues at the time (Leeching ex-girlfriend starting to go insane, namely)
