Steam Family Share

Soon Steam will allow us to share our entire library with up to 10 people of our choosing. You will want to share games that you aren't playing because you can't play together, but this seems like a great way to check out some games others have grown tired of.

Good Golly that IS cool.
Curious if the game needs to be loaded on the sharers' PC or just in the library.

I have quite a few games I have bought on sale and haven't even touched...others have a few hours on them but no intention of playing them again....this is absolutely awesome!

from a Steam group I'm part of:

nevermind not being able to play together - you can't access your game library without kicking the other people out of your game/s first. Booooo!

Full Library.

So it was almost a fantastic move by Steam. Now it's merely OK/Good in certain specific situations.

Damn. Was going to auction Senyek's prodigious catalog access off too!

So when you are sharing a game with someone in your library - you do not have access to your games if you want to let them continue playing your library.

Someone else can not access a different game either.

Bummer.

Though simultaneous usage of an account’s library is not allowed, the lender may always access and play his games at any time. If he decides to start playing when a friend is borrowing one of his games, the friend will be given a few minutes to either purchase the game or quit playing.

Basically the owner can play anytime, the person that borrowed will just be kicked off of the owners library of games if he starts playing a game.

Although, that does suck that I can't loan someone Batman: Arkham City while I play something like Counter-strike from my library.

But who knows, maybe they change that in the future...probably having to take baby steps to not alienate their content providers (game dev/publishers).
