I know nothing of the game, but reviews are take it or leave it.
We (tried to) beta test this game. The weapons and ground combat are pretty good iirc but it had some fatal flaws that said "don't buy this" at the time. I can't remember what those flaws were, but I'm guessing that having been out a year, they've been resolved. One problem I do remember was that spawn camping was rampant.
The guys that made this game were the original Desert Combat modders from BF42 btw...
I finally downloaded it in full, its hugh with the extra DLC and patches included.
Single play mode kinda reminds me of QW:ET or 2142 for the action. If a concerted group effort is made by everyone, this could be a damn good game...
It still is resource heavy imho. At mid settings it seemed to lag a bit here and there. For only $8 its not bad at all though. At least it works and all the key assignments held, and we've been looking for a MW2 replacement in the cartel so this and/or Crysis Warhead are being discussed.
Contrast wise, it doesn't appear to have any screen blur so perhaps it may be something Atomm can stomach ;p
I think when we were beta testing this game made me really dizzy. But it had a lot of issues then, I am not sure I spent more than 1 or 2 times checking it out before I gave up on it.

Cool good to know for next time. My shit ISP cuts my DL speed on half after 3GB (mine was cut at the 5GB mark) and according to tech support will stay at half speed until 12 noon the day after it was slowed.
IE: They slowed me on Sunday ~4pm I will stay slow until Monday Noon. Go CableOne!
I can understand a throttle (don't like it), ISPs have to do something to try and discourage P2P hogs, but to make the throttle stay on for 24 hours seems excessive. :-(

I'll have to pass on this one...
I should just use Atomm as my litmus test - if his head goes woozy I should pass also and vice-versa.
I get that swimmy head HL2 sick feeling if I play it too long.
I bought the game for $50 when it came out. The short version: had tons of potential but was released before it was ready for primetime. It was so buggy when it came out, that it bascially got swept aside by COD4 and never recovered.
It seems much better now. It wouldn't be the big, killer recruiting tool we'd like to have - it looks like we'll be waiting for BF1943 and Bad Company 2 for that. With a bunch of us it could be a total blast though.
Several of -=NC=- guys picked it up. We could play it this Friday if anyone would like. I'd be willing to play it right now.

That's one of the reasons I hate pubbing in general. Pubbers can make the funnest game as fun as an orgy with porcupines.
If we got 8 of us and hopped onto an empty server with decent pings, I guarantee we could make a good time of it. But then again, you could say that about a lot of games. It's more about who you game with then it is the game you actually choose to play.
