Tried it in 2010 - dropped it as the 2 week try out was over and I did not want to subscribe.
Now that it's free to play - I jumped back in and funny thing is - the game remembered RIGHT WHERE I stopped in 2010..... and here I am going W T F - how the hell do I play this game....

- the only problem I've run across is the away missions that are indoors THE SAME FREAKING MAP - I've done 10 or so indoor missions and other than a few random objects - the interiors are THE SAME!

The "look of space" is where its at - though I warped to Earth and after about 1,000 messages of "There is nothing here captain - do you wish to warp to sector space?" messages I was able to pilot in to Earth orbit - and they did not render the continents correctly - Europe is fudged up - and North Americas is a Joke..... I know I know - its a game... but don't you think they could model Florida correct?


There is a quest in the exploration folder that is Go here - Find a planet to assist - don't come home until someone is happy out there - and the space is gorgeous - the missions are random out there - explore a dead freighter (Oh look! it's an inside mission - I thought I was in the Vulcan council building again AS IT LOOKS THE SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE)

Or fix a warp core on a listening post (same internals again) Fight some pirates - each space area - I spend a few min just looking around - they do it well.

Made it to level 6 - almost 7 with not really knowing what I'm doing - not having a BALL like DDO but it passes the time, semi-fun, still don't think I'll every pay anything for it, but the new F2P model is truly free and every quest and zone is fully open for everyone now.

The game DOES support (4 or 6) real human players.

Get it - its free - tool around space going oooh ahhhh deal with the ground (away missions) when you want - They too are no longer necessary to play in game....

It's good - not great. I'll keep it installed for kicks

Not sure how you find friends in game - as you can change ships I'll guess it goes by Captains name and not ship.

tried logging in/reinstalling about 3 or 4 separate times.. and everytime the launcher crashes on me at the login. So.. yeah.

had dave looking into it........im going to look into the fleet thing tonight, i cant see why everyone would have to be online all at once. if thats the case, its dumber than dave is.
