I played Karkand against BlaZiN.uk last night on my favorite server, and kicked his lilly white ass.
JMF is nothing but a stat paddder, (takes an ex-stat padder to know one. :roll: )
My squad and I smoked his lilly ass like 12 times, the wimp quit the server before the game was over. Chump's a medic and makes his score by revives only. Wax his ass enough to keep him off the paddles and he run away like a little girl.
I think back in BF42 and BFV you could look at a persons score on BFStats or BFTracks and get a pretty good indication of how "good" they are. Now that support points are given out, that all goes out the window, and you get guys who are "average" or below players ranking very high because they do 50 revives per game or whatever. Just goes to show what the ranking system is worth.
Exactly, I play to have fun. I don't care about competing with someone else. Once I start competing, the fun is gone and I don't want to play anymore. I'm just about to that point now because I play occasionally. Because of this, I still pretty much have the default weapons with a couple unlocks. There are people out there that have far more accurate and deadly weapons than me because of this. To be honest, I really don't care to play BF2 now because it feels like I am out there with a pea shooter and don't have much chance against most now. All I am is someone's stats padder.
LOL I'm the Anti-Raze. If it were not for the classes and upgrade and levels, I would have nothing in the game. The goals keep me going, I hardly pay any attention to what is going on around me if it does not directly effect the badge or ribbon I am working toward.
I take little or no interest in my medals and ranks. The only thing I cared about is ranking up for the unlocks and I have all the ones I want now. For the most part I potter around the larger maps not actually doing that much. I love flying helos so do that when I get chance but I hate the frenetic action of the city maps which seems to be where the points are scored.
I used to play obscene amounts of BF42 and would watch my BFTracks page all the time. Particularly my kill/death ratio. After a while I noticed that I was only enjoying the game when I was doing really well. If I didn't get gold I considered it a failed round. If my kill/death ratio was less than 2 I started getting pissed.
In the end it got so bad I had to stop playing. I was getting too angry if things werent't going my way. Gaming is supposed to be fun not a chore. If you're not enjoying it you've gotta ask yourself why you're playing!
Nowadays I just play to have fun. I play because I like the game. I check my stats periodically but only out of academic interest. I'm not really bothered if they are improving or not. I know how good I am and can usually make it in among the medals if I really apply myself. I usually finish midtable nowadays though. As long as I do my bit for the team and have fun that's enough for me
Spandex, looks like you and I changed places, I was the last person on earth to ever care about stats. I never looked at my BF/DC stats once, not ever.
I use to play for fun, but every where I played and with every one I played, I found them all to be bull shit players. The all talked a good game but they never understood team tactics or how to hold a single point and let the game come to them. It sucked staying in a group to try to have fun. It's like they sucked the life right out of the game and made it a chore to "be a team player"
I was in a clan that came close to what I wanted (or was looking for), but underneath they were real ugly people and the clan "owner' was spoiling away the funds for his personal drug use......
That's when I decided to play for the medals, all it takes is time and patents. Pick a goal, let the game play on around you. If the server sucks and is not supporting your goal, move.
Don't know - maybe someday I'll find some server that is a real great place to play, where you want to play the game because of the people, (I doubt will ever happen). I think BF2 has changed our type of game not for the better and has created allot of players just like me, points and medals only. But until that day arrives, I'll just keep up with the "I love me" campaign and let bf2s.com be my guide.
I enjoy BF2 the most on Friday Nights when I am playing with a Full Squad of GRB's working together for a common goal, be it defending a flag or whatever. Add TS and it's a blast!
