Hey gang, I picked up UT2k4 and was wondering if anyone knew of any good servers?

Yeah... Ours once we get it 🙂

Nah... Honestly... I have only been playing onslaught on public servers... None to recommend though...

Thanks, I'll keep my eye out and report back....over and out 🙂

FYI, We probably won't be able to keep Onslaught on our server. It is a monster hog of CPU resources. How about CTF, instagib, quad-jump, low gravity?

When i used to play Quake III with ephil and another coworker a few years back, I got addicted to instagib. My only thing about a CTF game is the dependence on teams. Is it possible server side to have bots round out smaller games, and then get bumped as users start to login?

Could we not have low grav? The other mods sound cool tho. But low grav slows it down a lot, making instagib really "cheap" overall...

Yea, but low gravity makes Quad Jump freaking awesome!

We can look into different mutators. We will come up with something cool. As for the team thing, I hate DM, even if my team is a bunch of weenies. Let's see what we can do.

Any mod based on Onslaught is too resource intensive. Maybe, we could run it on a single night, but as far as a standing server goes, no Onslaught. In other words, no mods with Vehicles either. 😛

I've been following the server guys and the info I have seen is Onslaught averages 75% of a CPU on a dual Xeon machine. That is freaking unreal. Even BFV isn't that bad. I can't image how much worse that gets with a mod.

I love bombing run, but it looks like UT2k4 didn't do much to improve it. Last time I checked, I found 4 servers with people actually playing. Even then, I think there were bots. I thought maybe CTF would be more popular. But like Goose said, Quad Jump with Low Gravity Freaking ROCKS!
