What do I need?

Ok, now that Atomm has sucked me into playing this game 🙂 , what do I need for mods/custom maps/patches etc... and where is the best place to find them?

About the only mod you will need if your going to play at NSP is Jailbreak. Latest version is .b I believe. I've had discussions in my UT clan, and we all agree no more mods 🙂 They distract us from our core of standard weaps and insta. I'll still support your Thurs nite mutator setup wishes, but my team will probably not partisipate en masse'. Lol, they didn't seem to care for lowgrav/quadjump. hehehe. Its cool, I'll still frag with you that nite, np. 🙂

I will have a new UT server next week. This one is going to be in GA. I bought this one with 16 slots so we can handle more traffic on fun and team nites. It will be patched to latest version, so get patch 3369 I believe, but double check when your looking for patches.

Also I'm going to be signing up for 2 more TWL ladders in weaps/CTF and TDM.. time to take it to another level... So if anyone here wants to join in with some of our training sessions, feel free to drop me a note. We are bringing in some tutors from UT Community Reloaded, so what the hell, might learn a trick or two.

Oh, Also I need one volunteer from GRB that knows the UT web interface to assist in the Thurs nite bashes. Mainly just to check everything is right and ready, plus you could run games anytime during the week with no hassle from pub users. I'll setup an Admin acct for this user.

As you know I ran UT servers Lexx when we sued to play so can help you out there if need be.

I kind of liked the mods myself. Oh well.. I think your clan did not like them as we actually kept up with them. You lose your advantage when others can actually jump and get away. Back to basics for you guys then! I do understand that some players just want to practice one type of game play over and over and over until they get great at it. Just seems like it turns from skill to repetition to me. A good player should be able to adjust. 😉

Seriously I want to play some jailbreak tonight so plan on that.

Sarge install Ut2004 and get the patch here

be careful not to get the 64 Bit version 😉

Then get

Jailbreak Mod:
PATCH LEVEL:: 2004b SP2

There is a full install (if you do not have anything installed) and make sure you either patch for SP2 or get the install that has the SP2 in it for jailbreak.

I tried to put that tongue and cheek. My team prefers no mutators as thats what we play in TWL. Mods bring zero public traffic, so they are more of a team fun nite thing if someone wants to mess with uploading, installing, and tweaking them 🙂 Unfortantely, they can cause server downtime, not good for a TWL team 🙁

Sorry, no Jailbreak tonite, but I promise I'll install in on the new server next week. No sense in uploading it for one or two hours. Everything from last week is still in a mapvote "GRB Style"
