I'm a died-in-the wool FF user, but the eye candy is interesting - and I'm like a crow - Oh look shiny - new - purdy - must have.

Never used it. Have you tried Chrome? That at least sounds shinier than Safari.

safari is ok. Even on Mac OS I still run FF. Safari is pretty, has issues with more webpages than FF. Also bear in mind if you install it on a PC, you get harnessed with all of the apple "goodies" as if you install itunes, namely apple updater, bonjour service and I think quicktime.
The apple updater is horrible, it keeps copies of all of the old versions of the software... i.e. if you install version 3.0, when it installs 3.0.0.0.1 it will keep that downloaded file (software3_0_0_1.exe) when it installs 3.0.0.0.2 it will keep (software3_0_0_2.exe) as welll and so on a so forth. It will do this for all of the Apple software, and they update a lot. I have found PCs with directories with 2-4Gb of install files from the 300 versions of the 4 pieces of software.
So, while the software isn't bad, I won't install it due to how many other things they decide to touch on my computer. Its actually decent on a Mac OS machine. (Of course this info is as of the last time I saw an install maybe 3 or 4 months back... and may have changed though I doubt it).
Moral of the story, there are three very different Safari Browsers. The one for Mac OS is decent, the one for Windows OS is ok, but comes with waaaaaaay too much junk, and the one for the Iphone blows chunks, but since Apple won't allow Opera or FF to make a 3rd party, well we are stuck with BS webbrowsing.
I have not touched chrome, honestly only because I am happy with Firefox.
The only browser I have actively liked besides FF is Opera. I haven't adopted it only because FF hasn't let me down enough to look elsewhere (though it is starting to bloat).
I use opera some and it's pretty slick. I tend to run it mostly while running a game on my main monitor and use it to look up maps and other info. It's relatively low overhead compared to FF and has many of the same features. In fact many of the FF features originally came from Opera.
