    I guess there is some nuance that the headline doesn't cover, I dont' have time to read the law, so this may be more sensationalized than true

    The problem is I didn't use the word correctly. I'm certainly not smart enough to use a dictionary.

    What if you ask me to remove a virus, and ooo by the way how did we get the virus? I would classify that as analysis.

    The problem stems from Chain of Custody. If Joe Shmoe finds kiddie pr0n on a customers computer, he could do something to contaminate the evidence, but if he has a license that says he knows what he's doing with evidence, it will go a lot further towards convicting someone.

    I see both sides.

    And for the record, I read the law and it's all legal speak, but it doesn't come across as computer repair. It comes across as investigating data.

    OIC both sides too... we were both playing devil advocate to each other. I mean, does that imply that maybe house cleaners should be PIs because they could find evidence?

    Me and former friend used to go to RHPS every weekend for awhile there back in the early 90's.

    We knew the manager of the theater so used to get in free. It was fun, we probably seen it over 60 times.

    Where else can you go, scream your head off, throw stuff around and get away with it 🙂
