C4 NGen mousepad

Well it's been a month now and I can only say great things about both the mousepad and the .75" EX-L Teflon disks for the mouse.

A little pricey but just what I was looking for - and slick as polished ice.
If you recall I had mouse jitter with the new Logitech G5 Laser replacement mouse which replaced my old G5 LED.

Which turned out to be the old 'mousepad" I used. (Which was really a GLOCK armorers pistol mat.) - I'm happy to say the C4 pad works just fine and does not make the pointer jitter at all.

I find id I clean both pad and feet weekly (or right before FNF) with isopropyl alcohol - WOW no friction at all!
I purchased the 16"x20" - but I would highly recommend any size to fit your space.

Looks like good stuff. I'm at the point where I need to consider replacing my pad and think about some mouse feet too. Probably won't happen for a few months, but I'll try to keep them in mind.

Just curious, what size (approx) are you guys using for your mousepads for gaming?

I think my mousepad is in the 8x10 size range, but I'll have to check.

...... and the last 10 months have not fared well for the pad.
It is a victim of my environment, and has NOT fared well at all.

It resides on the corner of my (ancient) Oak desk - the pad settles in to the grain of the desk - the grain of the desk is parallel to the seating position so the mouse pad now has ripples in it mimicking my desk wood grain. So as you mouse over it for the year the raised ridges of Teflon are getting worn off leaving the black sub-straight showing - while this does not effect the mouse, it is ugly.

Once folded - it never straightens out again, so you mouse off the side and slide back on to it, but catch a corner and it folds over - the folds there forever, have a 2 year old in the house who like to sit at your desk with you, and grabs a hand full of mouse pad...... a corner now looks like rumpled and straightened aluminum foil.
Same goes for you have a piece of paper over it and are using a ball point pen....... its a great way to make lasting memories of what you wrote - to never come out again.

Cats - the final straw in the mouse pads demise. More specifically their claws, while not torn it is creased so deeply from them walking across, sliding inadvertently from it being so slippery (when new) they throw out the claws to stop (like cats do) and crease the pad.

I noticed in the last few days (playing Tanks) that when I zoom way in (Sniper mode) my gun barrel is WAY jittery - so I start cleaning mouse feet, replaced the Teflon feet to new ones (thinking old feet are scratched) and then finally cleaning the mouse pad and noticed the cat claw "drag marks" the mouse laser is tracking the irregular (not flat) surface. So as I try to slowly move the gun to not upset the circular error, the laser tracks down in to the micro canyon of the cat/wood grain/fold/pen/wear spots and reads that as motion and moves accordingly.

So when new and slick and flat - it was wonderful - 11 months later - its junked out form day to day use and what I would consider normal living conditions.

I'm now looking for a good hard surface GLASS mousepad.

Thats a shame, it was still on my 'to buy' list, maybe I should pass now. As for the glass pad, sounds great, but I would be sure the laser on your mouse works on the glass. I know on normal glass I have never gotten a mouse to work.

yah figured I'd post an after action report on the pad - just in case.
There are Glass/Plastic/Aluminum pads made for gamers so the lasers will work.
Most likely will pass on the plastic, as it will scratch too.

The SteelSeies 5L (5 Layer) has a hard plastic liner for rigidity, then foam over that for "give" and then a slick surface on that.... but concerned about the cats again puncturing in to the soft..... Glass/Alu is the next - the search is on.
