Custom Downloads

I've noticed the list on the left of the site with the current maps in test and those that are running are not links. We tried to access the downloads and it blocked us too. Atomm has given me what I need to get them, but others will certainly find this a problem.

Can we make those quick and easy links to the maps? I know some may want to keep theirs private from the public until it is released and that would merely require skipping a link for it until it's ready.

If they're for private use, it could simply pop up with a PW request.

This is normally set this way for a pretty good reason... 🙂

Is is to control what is being sent out to the world... You get to many people with many different versions of the maps and then the map is dead 🙁

So, we keep them for testers to run through... Once it is all good, the world gets to play 🙂

Check the custom map section of the private forums. There is a sticky with links to the testing maps.

Also, the new project website will have links for all the maps available to clan members.

Well what about the bfv maps that have been released? It shows GitD and Guadal'nam over there but they're not links. I actually commented to Lou about this a few weeks ago, just saying that if those are final releases then we should have a direct download link for anyone who wants to get them. I'm not sure about bandwidth and storage space for the site, but i say if we have the room and the power then we should definitely have them available on the site.

Well, the plan was to release them, but the mappers keep coming up with things they want to change. :-) It's a never ending battle. I was planning on release them, but things didn't go like I planned. We will get it straightened out.
