My graphics card supports DX9 so I should be ok for now. My only concern at this point is with Vista utilizing 512MB-1GB of RAM, there's not much left over for other stuff.

I am hoping to get a new graphics card in the next year - may have to do some other stuff as well 🙁

Well windows can consume close to that now. Vista's consumption will also depend on how visually of an interface you want. If you want the fancy flying in and out windows etc..., it will use more. I think for the basics it will be about the same, maybe a bit more than XP.

They are really trying to make it “fancy” but you do not have to run it that way.

I figured that you would be able to turn some of that crap off and tweak it to minimize resource use. I am really looking for excuses to upgrade. Unfortunately I will also need to look for the money as well.

True to word, Sarge. Right now I could make the switch myself, save I'd need to sell my current RAM and bump it up to 3 GB to run everything smoothly as it does now.

    IS Sarge, IS 😉

I have a new video card that is driving me crazy just sitting there. I cannot wait to get a MB and new CPU to use with it.
