    My last thread devolved into a Thunderdome event, so here's part duex. . .

    Newest Windows 7 issue: shortcuts made by dragging them from the Firefox address bar to the desktop do not open the website as they had for me under XP, but instead cause this error. . .

    It happens with all my shortcuts made this way. I often use this to save links I want to go back to shortly, but don't necessarily want to save permanently. For example, things I find that I want to post about here.

    Whyfore won't my shortcuts open in Firefox or IE?

    My shortcuts work fine this way. It looks like your default filetype got messed up.

    Windows seems to know what it's for. There's obviously an issue with what Windows does with it though.

    Edit: Here's the security settings tab for it. Seems like whenever I'm having issues with anything running right, it often has to do with security.

    How's that compare with the settings on your shortcuts, Paladin?

    The shortcuts are working now. I did nothing.

    My internet's been screwed up all day. I dunno what's my system's fault and what isn't at this point. I only know I hate tech-support ppl. One hung up on me before we even did anything, and before I could even give him any shit.

    The next one made me turn off my firewall and declared victory, even though my service had been up and down all day. Her "fix" only worked because the service decided to work at that particular moment. It's been up and down a dozen times since then, and funny enough, I haven't been turning my firewall on and off all that time.
