I am going to buy my first DVD Burner. I'd like to make copies of my Daughters DVD's so the originals will not get messed up. What is the best and easiest software to use for this?

Nero 7 is useful and efficient.. thats for straight dvds.. if you are talking about dvds with copy protection then you need Nero and a program called SmartRipper.

I second the NERO recommendation. Getting a bit BLOATED for my taste, but still good. You'll need this for everyday burning of data disks and more.

Smartripper, a freeware app for ripping DVD copies (as suggested by Cold)

    DVDshrink, another good tool:

Forgot to add: Many burners come with software, that's how I got Nero. FWIW

I might also recommend Lite-On as a good brand of DVD burner. Long-held to be the 2nd-best burners (Plextor's arguably better, but costs twice as much). . .great value for the money.

I would give DVD shrink a try as they mentioned. It is free and works really well.

Nero is also good, I have the latest version but still use DVD Shrink for what it is worth! 😉
