Hey guys, I decided to reformat my machine. I was able to reformat and reinstall all of my software last night. It was 2.30am so i went to bed b4 reinstalling BF:42 and BF:V. Tonight I ran up here to install them and beleive it or not my HP 420i Dvd Writer will not read the EA cds. It read every other cd I own. I know these cds work, my wives mac reads them fine and they worked 2 days ago in this same machine. Any ideas? I have tried disabling DMA. I have trouble tickets in with HP and EA. I don't expect much from them. FYI my DVD drive is secondary master, my harddrive is SATA-0
My very first engineering class my first day in college the professor walked in the the room and wrote "K.I.S.S." on the board. It stood for "keep it simple stupid". Well before checking the obvious I had my machine ripped apart, updating Bios, firmware, switched the channel the drive was in and changing drivers... etc. Well after some time bf:42 still didn't work, I assumed since I had this trouble with this drive before that it was an EA issue. Well, I tried Bf:v and that worked for a minute then locked up saying it couldn't read anymore. I cleaned the considerably dirty cd off, and ..... tahdah!!!! it worked. Cleaned the BF:42 cd, it worked. DOH!
All said I am back up and running. One question remains. Do I need to redo anything for PB and TWL in regards to my GUID? I assume the GUID is assigned based on your CD key. Anyone know for sure?
