    Atomm, or whomever 😉

I'd like to know if there is a quick and easy way to move the google ad bar to the bottom of the webpage as you managed to do here.

I intend to build an UT Instagib site to gather players and clans that are so interested, like a fellowship of sorts. Last year there was a thriving community, but it withered away when the site owners went broke and couldn't afford the costs or bandwidth. It was getting hit for over 10gbytes of bandwidth a month, so we are thinking this is another way to keep track of the community before 07' arrives.

Looks like I have alot to do, but I don't want those ads on the sides or top.

Lexx, if your goal is to offset the costs, then putting ads on the bottom of a page is a waste of time. I've been studying ways to improve revenue. The ads at the bottom of the forums has been a flop.

To actually make any sort of money, you must be willing to integrate your ads into your site, even if it means putting them above the fold. For example, after revamping GR and putting the ads higher up with more focus, I went from a CTR of about .06% to 6%.

There is a lot more to this than throw it up and hope someone clicks it. My own experience confirms this.

Er no, I didn't explain myself right heh.. I'm getting a bytehost free webhosting. If you pay $12 a year they remove the google ads. Instead of pissing around with getting a paypal to pay it, I thought I'd just try to move all the ads to the bottom where they don't foul the site up.

Once this is setup, I want to be able to walk away from it without worring about money. I just hoped you could tell me how to arrange the html on the webpage and on phpBB forum pages to keep the headers clean of ads.

If it's a free host, then you can't. They will use a technique that forces them to the top. This is done in a way that is outside the actual HTML you can control.

Remember we talked about this when we set up the OSS site Lexx. I paid the $12 to just be done with them. What they do if you do not pay is push the adds then load your code so there is no way to turn it off as any code you have up actually runs after theirs. It is independent of any code you use.

Godaddy has a fairly nice hosting plane for under $5/month. Just FYI.

Is this new clan going to be part of GRB at all? It would really benefit GRB if you could build around the name. Even if you run it separately, with your own rules etc....

No, this isn't a new clan. Its going to be a re-organization of instagib players, servers, and clans. A gathering of all to basically a super forum with a website supporting tourny news, server stats, and probably a irc PUG channel w/ a TS join status box.

Once done, we just want to turn it over to the insta community and let them run with it however they see fit, just want to make it very affordable long term. GRB amongst others, can be represented as partners with a server status, banner ad, and interested users posting with thier sigs.
