    Such a thing would be huge. There seems to be obvious uses to which this could be put to immediately, should it work.

    I don't understand why things take so long to at least VERIFY it works. Once he has protected his financial interests via patent, he should be out there showing it for all to see. If he really believes it works, he should put together a list of needed materials, have someone else supply the parts and then BUILD ANOTHER under direct supervision of the other party. If this model works as the other did, then DING! We have a winner!

    As I understand it, it isn't something outrageously hard to build. Shit, he should stand off to the side of the stage on Letterman, with another impartial observer, and build the damn thing while the show is running. Pan over now and again and see how things are going, and on whatever day the job is finished, demo it!

    My only explanation for why this hasn't been definitively proven is that it doesn't work. I don't even ask for an explanation WHY it works, just a proof of effect. Leave it to the scientists to puzzle over what it means at their leisure, and to see how long the effects last.

    I, along with everyone else in the world, keep hoping something shows itself, whether it be cold fusion, workable & sustainable REGULAR fusion, a cheap way to make/use hydrogen power, etc. We've grown too big to use dirty, nonrenewable power, and when natural gas/oil becomes too expensive/hard to get, we're gonna have billions of people who are gonna suffer.

    We watch Star Trek and the like, and see them wandering the galaxy carefree, with incredible power at their fingertips. It seems to me though, that nothing in the universe comes easy or cheap, and that we may reach the end of what little easy, cheap, portable power we have before we ever find an alternative. If we're lucky, we'll have improved solar/wind/tidal power, the efficiency with which it is transported, and our ability to store it before then.

    What it comes down to, is most times they are claiming it works on one physics property in in that closed aspect it's producing more energy than going into it so most people wouldn't know any better. But once you look at it hard enough then you realize it's harnessing seom other energy too.

    not to mention some of our finer companies are from college drop out.

    I think the biggest problem is this is a proof of concept. In and of itself, there is no product to sell to consumers. So, they need the scientific community to back them before any of the big companies will take them serious.

    One of the articles talked about all the companies he's contacted that won't see him. The scientific community is a fickle animal that still does things the way they did a hundred years ago. By slowly building support from big names in physics, it will open the doors at the companies who really need to decide if this can work for them.

    If he could take this and turn it into a consumer product that could be mass produced, he might be able to cut down on the time to market, but that still takes a lot of capital.

    Isn't this just a standard electrical motor with some simple, nonstandard use of additional magnet(s)? An improved electrical motor? If so, this would have a lot of immediate uses - anything at all that uses electrical motors, and quite a few things use them. I'm not a real gear-head/handyman type, but don't air conditioners and/or refrigerators use motors to run the compressor? Electric cars would be another use that springs to mind. (Checking the article, it mentions electrical cars and fans as examples)

    I know work will need to be done to test how this effect scales, how long the effect lasts without need for repair/replacement of parts, etc. But my point is, ppl can't even determine if there is an effect. First things first: demo it, let ppl examine/dismantle it, give info on how the machine is built and encourage ppl to duplicate the result. The observation and independent verification of what it does, in this case, should be a very easy step.

    This is a very well-known tech with a simple alteration. Many thousands, probably tens of thousands, of ppl in the USA alone should be able to understand what such a device is normally capable of. Show it to some of these ppl, and let them decide if it's for real.

    Scientists have good reason for not believing it's possible. It probably ISN'T possible. 🙂 Show it to the nut & bolts guys. If the ppl who build & work with electrical motors believe something's there, then enough ppl will take it seriously soon enough. He'd be better off doing that rather than trying to change the scientists' religion (so to speak). If this device works as claimed, that's pretty close to what will happen.

    When a simple step like verification of an effect can't be done in a timely manner, it pings my BS meter. All the charlatans say, "No one believes me!" If an effect is observable and repeatable, believability (and intense study) will follow.

    You bring up a good point.... Give it to the nuts and bolts guys and let them go to town.

    If he really wants to proove what's going on, record the whole process on video and put it up on Youtube.

    I think one of the articles hit upon the fact that a lot of companies won't even talk to him. He needs street cred.....
