    So what's the deal now a days - you install shockwave and it wants to add Nortons web scan for free, you install the new update to iTunes and they want to add safari, you update XYZ and they want to add Yahoo tool bar.....


    When and where will it end.....

    It certainly is hateworthy. After accidentally installing a google or yahoo toolbar one time, I've become extra careful about that. I don't use Itunes or quicktime. I hadn't seen the shockwave crapware - i'll have to remember that one too.

    Hence why adobe, and apple are on my poop-list with fan favorites such as realplayer

    They get paid to offer you these cool "options".
    I hate them as well. Just more money making, forcing of things you don't want.

    That is why I use Quicktime alternative and Real Player Alternative if I need those options. They are lighter version and do not add extra stuff.

    do a google search on quicktime alternative and real aternative, that is the name fo the software
