#2 A couple of guys had a similiar problem. It turned out to be a dirty disc if I remember correctly. Try cleaning the disc. If that doesn't work, try a different cd drive. I've seen where some drives are starting to have problems, but it only happens with certain discs. -
#3 See if you can make an image of it and install from it. If a dirty disk isn't the culprit.
How old/new is the drive? -
#4 2 things to try after cleaning. Make sure the drive when it askes for the 2nd cd is ok. You can try doing a browse to the file it is loking for. My bfv 2 cd does this to me. I think it could be due to the fact that my drive is F. The other, which is what I have done. Create you a folder and in that folder create a set of folders that corresponds to your CD's. For instance. on my BF42 folder I have the folders CD1, CD2, CD3... Copy each CD to the correct folder. Once complete you can go into the CD1 folder and run setup. It shouldn't ask for any of the the other CD folders, it just seems to pick them up. Except if you install any other features other than the game then it will ask for the location, but all you have to do then is point it to the correct CD folder. The same works for BFV. -
#5 im getting weary, i need to play dammit, im taking this pos in and getting the gurus to install, they may as well install the mods and get them working too -
#6 If you have 2 drives I really say try the image technique.
1. You never have to put a disk in your machine to run the game just locate and mount the image.
2. Load times of maps are generally faster.
3. You don't ever have to worry about a dirty disk.
4. You can install and run on 2 machines. (only one machine can play at a time)
The only down side to this is that it takes some room on a drive aprox. 2 gigs.
On my work machine I just have the 1st disk image on it to run the game. I run both BF42 and BFV this way on both machines
The software to do it is free/30 day trial check out this link:

That's what I do. I created an image of the game CD with alcohol 52% as an ISO so if I wanted to burn it later I could. Can't run off the burned ISO but you can install. I then mount the ISO with Daemon tools. I have the 4 drives configured and all my CD's mounted.
 -
#9 can't wait to frag you again Mike!! -
#10 I know for a fact that you only need to mount one image to play. You might be killing a lot of VM running all 4?
I have reloaded the entire game twice from images, the actual disks have only been in 2 drives 2 times. Home and Work. -
#11 Nah, it doesn't seem to eat up much.... i got memory to spare. :-)
