ipod - itunes - issues

Latest 8 gig nano if that helps also.

Problem: podcast(s) have stopped playing back to back..... when one podcast ended the next one use to start (say 3 hours of a show spit in to 3 one hour casts labeled (A) (.B.) and (.C) in the past when (A) ended (.B.) automatically started - now I have to manually scroll to (.B.) and center click to start it... etc...etc...etc....

Anyone know the setting (if there is one) to make them play continuous?
I do not have this issue with any music, weather it's a single artist's album, a play list or shuffle songs, only with podcast(s)

I won't be able to help with the nuts and bolts of any answer, but I have a question: Are the podcasts encoded in a different format than the music you play?

No the music is ripped from CD on my pc to itunes library as MPEG Layer 3 Audio and so are the pod casts I receive automatically through itunes subscription.

OK, so next shot-in-the-dark. . .since the encoding format is the same, what else could be different? Could the length of the file make a difference?

You didn't say it was shutting off, so I guess it's not a sleep timer or idle setting. . .I got nuthin'.

Nope not length of file. Just when one pod cast episode or file ends, the next one in the folder does not play (as long as there is a next file and not at the end of the file) I have to go to the pod cast folder scroll to the next file and center click to play the next pod cast.

It use to not be that way, I could put it on and start at the beginning of a PC folder and they would run one after the other with no interruption, when it stopped doing that I can not say....
and the ONLY thing that I can think of that changed was that I formatted my HD and moved (the correct way) my itunes folder from local HD to USB HD - re-burnt some missing CDs and re-downloaded all the podcast subscriptions (did not move any of them) to the USB HD.....

There's a tab in ITunes for Podcast. You might check there to see if there are any settings that could cause this.

What I would love to be able to do is create my own podcasts. I want to have my own MP3's show up under the podcasts area of my ipods.

Duck as for your problem, I have to ask, have you re-set your device at all? Sometimes that clears up weird behavior.

No I have not thought of resetting.... It's not THAT annoying yet, but I'll keep that option open.

As far as creating your own podcasts can't you just add a sub folder in the podcast folder, IE:

G:\iTunes\iTunes Music\Podcasts\Down Range Radio

Then add your own music to the "podcast"

Interesting idea will try to figure that one out.
