Need help ASAP

My Firefox keeps crashing when I go to http://www.cnn.com

Please pop over there and see if your Firefox session crashes. I just want to know if it's on my end, or CNN is doing something weird with their website today that they didn't yesterday.

Thanks Bubba. I had an idea it's about the plugins.

EDIT: Ahh, it's my AVG antivirus plugin. I'm thinking about doing another format/reinstall of XP, I should probably think about a new antivirus as well. AVG is getting attacked by the creeping feature creature, and could be on the road to bloatware.

BTW - we are having a hell of a bad time with out industrial software and windows XP SP3 - at the present no know fix for $100,000 of industrial automation software is to Format C reinstall and only patch to SP2.

SP3 may be your problem.

I haven't yet gone to SP3. I was going to slipstream it to an XP sp2 disk and burn a new install disk. Not sure I want to do that now.

SP3 autoupdated on two of my computers, both had software issues afterwards. I had to do exactly as you said, as there was no uninstall for SP3. Makes ya wonder if EA crawled into bed with MS.

I have put sp3 on about 20 computers and have had no change or increase in speed on each. None of them are running anything odd, but on my home machine i saw alot of increases, I was truly impressed.

I thought we found info on how to strip SP3 out. We ran into problems with it breaking our App. It's painful, but my best memory was it worked. Might be worth testing as an alternative to R&Ring windows.

OK, Lexx says, "SP3 bad", Bubba says, "SP3 is no problem.", and Duck says, "No problem with SP3 at home, but don't run your $100,000 automation system with it." Any other comments on SP3? It broke your app early on, Atomm. Any Issues with your home rigs?

I agree with Duck, I wouldn't install it on anythign business until you have tested any odd applications. But for home use, it seems pretty good.

Also the first release of sp3 and the current are different beasts. I never installed the first release.

Pray tell which is different? I allowed it to auto update on my multimedia center and it killed my remotes and I downloaded the SP3 from MS and applied it to my server where it killed my news gathering service and made one of my usenet programs forget some of its functions.

I've been leary of it ever since.

MS released a SP3, it had alot of issues so they recalled it, then they released a new SP3 at a later date. Is that what you were asking?

I'm not telling anyone to install it, I am simply stating, I have installed it on over 20 machines now after testing it with every piece of software my office runs. I saw nothing but gains. I know it has been troublesome to some, mostly in the business sector. My experience has not seen that.
