My ps2 skips playing cds. I have read the whole eye gear flip over thingy but am too lazy to tear into it. I want to try just running a cd cleaner first, but my cleaner says not for use on ps2 pr xbox. What gives? Isnt a drive a drive? What are the risks of running the cd cleaner cd in the consoles?

#2 I don't know if I would do that. Remember, your PS2 is a DVD reader.
It may have multiple lasers depending on the type of disc you put in. I don't know for sure, but some optical drives do. -
#3 The cleaner I have is for dvd drive - I haven't a cllue what that means but it says dvd safe on it.
My husband got all mad at it skipping and ran the cleaner - no problems, or skipping thus far.
