Regrets Suck

I just died a little inside.

The 12 year old me had two of these in my hand at the local comic book shop. I had just enough to buy these two comics or to buy a bunch of regular stuff I read. The line was moving slowly and the longer I waited, the more I started leaning towards putting these back and getting my regular comics.

Needless to say, I put them back. One was to read and one was for a plastic bag with cardboard backing.

Oh and they were issue #1, first printing. I know because a fellow classmate had told me to get it because it was the next big thing and there were still first printings available.

Would have made an awesome college fund starter for the kiddo....... 🙁

Nicholas Cage (actor) had one of (if not the) biggest private comic book collections, Priscilla Presley thought comic books were juvenile, she told Nic - its them or me.

He sold them, she left him. He says he KNEW it was a mistake at the time and regrets it even more every day.

If I remember correctly, I was in 7th grade. Didn't have a lot of money at the time.

Did you hear that they got back Cage's Superman #1. It was stolen 10 years ago. That's nuts.

I still have all my comics. I'm thinking about sending a few off for grading. Just saw my Spiderman black suit first appearance going for over $100. I'm just not sure how good of shape mine is in.

Speaking of Comics, Raze and I were going to the Dallas Comic Con tomorrow, but the kiddo got a virus and gave it to me. I had to cancel. I'm a little bummed as Stan Lee was going to be there.

I still have a stack, I think, at my parents, I am sure there are some in there worth something. I am not sure they are worth enough for me to put forth the effort. I think I got into comics just after the TMNT, I know several of my buds had them.
