I seen where one of you guys was talking about remoting their home PC. What are you using to do that? Any special software or just standard RDC?
Remoting Home PC.

#2 Define remoting? You mean getting into your computer from another, I use the built in XP remote desktop. Works VERY well. -
#3 don't you have to open up like 6 ports on your router for that? -
#4 Not for remote desktop, just one port for each computer. -
#5 Yeah, usually takes a few port openeings. Though I use VNC (ultravnc.sourceforge.net), myself. MS Remote Desktop as a backup. Otherwise, I have a VPN concentrator on my main box so remote access is authenticated. Going to move it over to the sever when the new RAM comes in. But I'm paranoid bastard, and you don't need a VPN. I just toyed around with it and liked it. And I'm wierd. -
#6 I mainly like remote desktop as it is semi-secure/encrypted and it is already built in to XP Pro. It also works VERY well and fast I must say. MS sometimes does things right 😉
I will try that other software though.
I need to figure out how to set remote desktop through a VPN for work here so if anyone has done that, let me know. -
#7 I have always used remote desktop once I am connected via a VPN. -
#8 I know it is as easy as that, just have not done it yet. Have to find a good free VPN client etc...
