    I have to say this has been one of the single most pain in the ass things I've ever done. It's ridiculous the hoops I have to jump through to put my legally purchased DVD onto a legally owned device.

    I'm on my 4th guide. Once I find a way that works, I'll post it here.

    Free DVD Ripper is $49. LOL! FAIL!

    Thanks Paladin. I'm going the free route. I'm too broke after buying the actual phone. 😈

    Here is what I've done so far.

    I use DVD Decrypter to rip the base movie.
    - Use the IFO file type under Mode -> IFO
    - Be sure to set the file splitter to none. I did it in two places.
    - Tools -> Settings -> File Mode -> File Splitting -> None
    - Tools -> Settings -> IFO Mode -> File Splitting -> None
    - Uncheck all of the extra language and subtitles
    - Steam Processing -> Check Enable Streaming -> Uncheck all but main video and English

    Once that is done, then I use Handbrake to convert the raw video to IPhone specific settings.

    - 480 x 320
    - Be sure to change the file format from mp4 to m4v. That makes it native ITunes.

    Add it to ITunes and you are done.

    I've read that the new version of Handbrake, 9.3.0 no longer bypasses DRM, so it's possible that an older version would allow you to skip DVD Decrypter.

    Download them from newsgroups. Seriously, if you own the DVD but don't want to jump thru hoops to convert all of them, I bet you'll fine some of them already converted and posted for you.

    See, that's the thing. Newsgroups are a hassle to me too. I'm a lazy bastard at heart.

    Bah, you'd spend forever and a day to rip them, but you won't DL them. You're not lazy, you just don't allocate your time wisely.

    1. Go here, and type in your movie name(or part of it):
    http://www.binsearch.info/

    2. DL the .nzb file, and load it into your newsgroup program. You can have the newsgroup program open it directly during the DL, without the extra step. Even easier.

    3. Go spend time with the family while the computer gets your movie for you.

    How is that hard?
