I admit I haven't done any real research into this yet. Given all of my issues with my machine about a week ago I was planning to upgrade it's living situation some to try and protect it. Idea #1 was to put it on a UPS, not so much for the battery backup but mainly to condition the power it's getting. I think there are some internal wiring issues that cause alot fo power fluctuation (that and the fact I am quite a ways out of town). I was thinking a UPS would help with this. I went to the store to buy one and saw that the $50 APC were only rated for like 250 Watts. I have a 450 Watt PSU, there onlu seemed to be one that went that high and it was rather expensive. My question is, does this really matter to get a UPS that matches the peak wattage of my psu? Should I only worry about the UPS matching the typical wattage? Does it matter at all really? Does it only matter when the power goes out? Has anyone install a circuit breaker that conditions in lieu of a power condtioner at the site of the machine?
