This will be cool if true and provides yet another reason not to upgrade.

Yahoo News wrote:Running an Office productivity test suite on a preview version of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, Devil Mountain discovered a 10 percent performance boost over the current version of Windows XP, the company reported on its blog.

I have heard several similar rumors. I thought about trying the beta to see, but well, just not worth it yet.

It's kind of ironic that M$ would even let this out the door. It seems counter intuitive to what they are trying to do with Vista.

I was hoping to backward upgrade the new PC but there are no XP drivers for it. 😮
I still flattened and reloaded Vista to get rid of all the junkware.

I'd like to know EXACTLY what makes it 10% faster. I wonder if all my reg hacks be neutralized or are they just using those "tweaks" to get it moving faster?!

Ms. Knowledgebase should tell us someday...yeah right!
