Your favorite Non-Newegg computer component suppliers

You folks know my strong love for Newegg. Great parts, great prices. Unfortunately, they put that damn warehouse south of me, and I have to pay 9.5% sales tax now, so that kills some of the advantage of internet shopping.

What other reliable resellers do you buy from?

I'm looking to pick up a new mouse, and right now, I'm thinking about the OCZ Dominatrix, and the Logitech G5. I'll bide my time over the next couple weeks and look for holiday deals, but I'd like to get some idea of good places to watch BESIDES the place that adds a 9.5% charge to my purchase.

Anyone use a mouse with a scroll wheel that tilts left & right? I'm thinking if it's done right, it can be helpful - if it's done wrong, it could be a great annoyance.

I've purchased stuff from zipzoomfly before and they have prices comparable to Newegg. Also have used directron.com as well. They sometimes have pretty good deals.

mwave.com is my fall back from newegg, though I find their prices about $10-$15 more.
But when newegg is out mwave usually has, and vice versa.

No opinions on the tilt-wheel mouse? I thought it would be cool in FPS's to use it to lean left/right.

I have a logitech G5 laser - love it - but never was able to get the lean to work with the scroll wheel - FYI.

I love the mouse though and would gladly buy another if this one dies.
Cool thing is it comes with a weight block - you configure the weight of and where it's placed in the mouse.
Forward, left right, back.... great feature.

Duck, do you use the Logitech drivers that let you assign keypresses to the buttons, or are you going plug-n-play?

More importantly, is it easy to use the tilt-scroll-wheel, or do you find yourself performing the wrong action frequently? This would be a better question if you could get the tilt-wheel to work in-game, but I guess I'll have to go with your overall experience.

I load the Logitec setpoint software, but no joy on getting it configured using that interface, all I can do is get it to work with typical Microshaft apps, word, IE Explorer, FireFox (use tilt left / right for page scrolling up down online)

Games like BF2 where you can manually modify your control.con file you can manually assign the tilt, but I also use a Zboard Merc that has this add on to the left of the typical QWERTY

And it is BY FAR easier to configure using Zboards configure software, than trying to get the logitec to work, plus the merc has a auto recognize for each game, so each game loads my pre-configured game parameters that I set up on starting the game.

So, no issues getting the scroll wheel to do exactly what you want it to? No left/right tilt when you meant to click it as the middle mousebutton, etc?

I dont' game with a tilt wheel, but I do have one for work and it's nice for the mapping things. I don't think I would ever click instead "lean right".

Cool. In most situations, leaning accidentally wouldn't be fatal anyway, but it's good to know when you try to do something, you do THAT something and not something else.

Assuming I can get the LEAN to work in-game, might be nice to make the middle mousebutton a grenade toss. Lean left/right, push down to toss a grenade. Seems like a nice combo.
