Any Stone Sour Fans Out There?

Anyone planning on getting this?

It comes out August 1st. That's just around the corner.

It's kind of small, but here is the Album Cover.

I just heard looking through the glass today on the radio. I like it. I will definitely be looking for more of their stuff later. See, I'm supposed to be "working" right now or I already would be! 😄

Since I am still slaving away, I just watched the video on AOL music. It's cool, everybody should check it out.

So, how do you fare with their harder cousin, Slipknot? :-)

I like Slipknot. I have always liked hard rock. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth those were all staples of my youth. *tear* Ah, memories...

But right now Hinder- Lips of an Angel and Blue October- Hate me are #1 on my playlists. I'm pretty sure to be closely followed by Stone sour.

For me, I'm hooked on Killswitch Engage, Rammstein and The Hurt at the moment. I am looking forward to added Stone Sour though.

I just heard on the radio this morning that CSN&Y is going to be playing about 2 miles from my house. Thought it was somewhat ironic given the nature of this hijacking. :-)

Although I have heard "of" CSN&Y, I don't think I have ever heard one of their songs... I really don't think I have been missing much by not hearing one though.


And speaking of concerts with old bands, anybody remember Candlebox? They are coming to the town next to me. It's like 20 miles away.

Yea, I am a huge fan of Candlebox. I've seen them 4 times. I also had a chance to meet them and get their first CD signed.

I found an early studio quality import for Candlebox. It was really cool. I asked Kevin, the lead singer about it. Turns out it's not Candlebox, but his band before Candlebox. The guitarist is the only other member that was in that band, but it really sounded like them.

Anyway, it was really cool to get the chance to meet them and ask about the album.

As for Stone Sour, I bought it yesterday and I am listening to it for the first time today. I must say this album rocks. The reason I like Slipknot is because of the raw power they harness, but it's Corey's singing matched up with that power that really sucked me in.

Having a whole album with him singing, even if the music behind him is more mainsream sounding guitar rock, is deffinately worth it. I can't even figure out which songs to add to the station.

And as far as Candlebox goes, they were also one of my favorites. They never came here when they were popular though. I wouldn't mind going over to see the show, but I'm sure I won't. 🙁

Back on topic.

I really dig the new Stone Sour disk. (almost called it an Album.... shows me age eh'?)
Thru' the glass is the lightest track most suitable for standard terrestrial radio play.
Although still a good song.

Oh and it may have been a while - but for the record.... Slipknot still ______ [evil grin]

Hehehe! I'm impressed you even bought the Stone Sour album. I thought I heard Through The Glass on the radio the other day.

My favorite song is Scars.

I put 4 or 5 songs up on GR from the new album. It will be interesting to see how they are ranked in a few weeks.

No, it's the knowing what you think of Slipknot part that suprised me that you bought Stone Sour...... Huh? Run on sentence? hehehe

I've always said I like the power of slipknot musicly and when Corey sings instead of only screaming, it's awesome. Stone Sour lacks the power of slipknot, but it is still damn good Guitar Driven rock and I like Corey's singing and song writting.

I use to get a Magazine from the UK called Rock Sound. He did a monthly column. It's scary how intelligent he is. I think a lot of that is lost on people when they listen to the music.

Wow that is amazing. Stone Sour is the 'house" band for Hard Drive Radio and your right he is very intelligent.
He's on with Lou all the time. That's cool.
