Amazon released their new MP3 store. Unlike ITunes, all of these songs are DRM free. That in itself is really cool, but what is even cooler is the fact that songs start at 89 cents instead of 99 cents.

So, I decided to give it a look. The selection is kind of light, as I would expect given the record labels reluctance to offer DRM free music online. However, one notable exception jumped out at me.

Pink Floyd is available and I must say it is a steal.

    The Wall - $8.99
Wish You Were Here - $5.64 Quite possibly my favorite Floyd Album.
Dark Side of the Moon - $7.99
    Animals - $7.71

I know these are older albums and anything they make at this point is gravy, but if more albums were priced like this, the music industry would not be in a tailspin. I may even buy 2 or 3 at these prices.....

Wow, not too shabby! "Dark Side of the Moon" seems pricey compared to the rest - you get TWO albums of music with "The Wall". "Dark Side" is one of the top-selling albums of all time, though, and compared to everywhere else on the planet, it's a good price. I wonder what the bit-rate is, and the encoder. . .
