I Heart Joe Walsh

    How can you not? Dude is so talented and so funny. He flies under the radar as some sort of joker, but he has a great library of straight-ahead raw, but heartfelt, rock tunes, a handful of great ballads, and at least a couple of rock anthems. Joe was never a GREAT vocalist, but I'm struck by the thought, as I watch this, that Joe's kept what voice he ever had over a 40 year career.

    I watch this, that Joe's kept what voice he ever had over a 40 year career.


    Too true, always liked his music. Another one is Alice Cooper, same voice for 40 years too. I thinks it's because there not screamers so there not stressing their cords.

    How could you miss the married man anthem?

    You see much more polished Funk #49 videos on youtube in his later years, but this is a great Joe performance when they were long haired, dope smoking, starving musicians.

    Heh, I had to save some for someone else to talk about, or this would be a blog 😀

    The Confessor is a great tune. I remember it came out just after high school. It was part of the background music the year I went to Boston and New York with my friends. Joe comes off like a drunken buffoon, but the guy is a talented musician and songwriter, well-liked by other musicians. I think he puts on that persona as part of his show.

    Also off The Confessor album (they were albums back then) was a great little Michael Stanley Band tune called Rosewood Bitters. I can't find Joe's version, but MSB's version is pretty good.

    Yeah, nice stuff you show here. As I am not able to view any vid on the MTV site tho, I had to find a way to see the Joe Walshes Confessor vid and I looked on youtube again and found this. Another proof for little boys great ability to copy their fathers behavior. Sweet.



    Rosewood Bitters is a nice song too.
    Tho when the keyboard started, I was automatically reminded of the beginning tune of the BBS documentary. A haunting blast.

    And then - the same phenomenon that struck Duck before put its spell on me. Speaking of Joe Walshes Average Ordinary Guy vid.
