R.I.P. Alex Chilton :(

    Very sad news. I first heard of Alex Chilton in 1987 from the Replacements song of the same name. Once I started looking into who he is, I realized I knew him from his work with the Box Tops



    After the Box Tops he formed Big Star which was a major influence on many, many musicians in the rock/alternative scene.

    One thing I found interesting is he's the singer for the song called "The Letter".

    You know it.....

    Give me a ticket for an airplane ride, lonely days are gone, my baby just wrote me a letter.... Or something to that effect.....
