Sorry Lexx, but your haven is soon to be infiltrated by the enemy....

I imagine we will see the MPAA follow suit....

I dunno how Usenet.com does it's business, but Usenet itself certainly has legit uses. It's like filing a suit against a company called, "torrent.com". They might be guilty of copyright infringement, but torrents have legit uses, like when we get the latest game mod.

They are desperate and the lawyers have convinced them that suing works although it clearly has not deterred anyone.

They've been there for aloooong time already. There are several people all over usenet trying to stir the pot, taking names, threats,.. its usenet. Its also something that just can't be shut down by a couple of lawyers working for the music and movie industry.

The ones they have already tried to pick on are some of the major providers, that didn't go anywhere. The only change this will make at least for the next 3-5 yrs is the price goes up to pay the lawyers. It used to be free with most ISP's, now its quite limited or non existent. Pay service is much better, that will be where the rates start rising.

Theres no way this will effect the international usenet market. I'd have no problem sending my fees three instead of here.
