Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone: By some, the premier music magazine.

One reason I always had a semi likable relationship with RS it is the fact that they are very inconsistent. They put musicians and bands in various lists, best guitarists etc..., in ways that really do not wash with what I, and my friends a lot of the time, believe.
With that said I understand pressures from record companies or various other reasons for a lot of that, which is still Bull Shit to me.

Do not even get me started on their BS political articles.

However there is no excuse for this one; One HUGE pet peeve with me has always been the fact that this thing has been around for over 40 years now and pumps out what, 10,000 issues a year? They have had all kinds of non-music related covers, and NOT ONCE in the history of the magazine did they put the best group of all, in my opinion, on the cover.

Did you even know they have never been on the cover? Hard to believe!

I am a HUGE Pink Floyd fan. To me they are the best group in music history.
They are above most groups like Bill gates is above everyone else wealth wise. There are other wealthy people but he is in his very own league. The same goes with Pink Floyd in the music field; in my opinion they are in their own league!

Even if you are not a fan, or just like a song or two, you have to admit they had a HUGE influence on the music scene. They should have been on the cover dozens of times by now but this is simply not the case.

Rolling Stone has had 40 years and thousands of issues to do so. Why has it taken them this long?

I used to read RS back in the 80's, you know before the internet and all. The mag has a special place in my life as they were pretty much my only source of information at the time about "good" music. With the internet now, print magazines, especially ones about music and gaming, are pretty much useful only as reading material on the crapper or at the doctor/dentist. Although if you have a laptop, you wouldn't need a magazine in the crapper either. You can find more information, more quickly via blogs and online news. I mean, why read a review of an album when a website will allow you read a review, hear a song or two, and get feedback from other potential listeners?

You are right however, Pink Floyd should have been on the cover of RS back in the 70's or early 80's when they were more relevant. 😛

I agree, print magazines are really on the way out it seems. The web is just much more informative and current.
