Sandy West, drummer of The Runaways, passed away October 26th.

An all-girl band, perhaps remembered as much for their skimpy outfits and, well, being an all-girl band, as for their music, they truly were, "big in Japan."
The Runaways gave us Joan Jett (who co-founded the Runways with West) and Lita Ford, as well as former actresses (and identical twins) Marie and Cherie Currie. (Technically, I believe only Cherie was a Runaway, but who the hell would know if Marie showed up sometimes? 🙂 )
