What bands make from selling their music in various ways

    That is very interesting, but it is a bit misleading.

    That is what a non-label recording artist gets through those various services. If they had a label, all of that money would go to the label, then they would be paid a percentage. My understanding is usually 6-10%.

    This is why I can understand why bands continue to prop up music labels. If they already had a following, they would make way more money doing it on their own. I think that's what Radiohead did and they said it was much more profitable.
