Everyone has one CD/Tape/Album that they love, but if their friends found out, they might disown them. So, fess up!

What album do you own that you wouldn't never admit to?
What is it about it you like so much?

Spice - Spicegirls, Eyecandy. ::did I just say that::

I have been fortunate to have perfect taste in music and have never purchased anything that I am embarrassed to own. For instance, I have never owned anything by Prince, REO Speedwagon, or someone named Bryan Adams. Nor have I ever owned any music from Jesus Jones, the Goo Goo Dolls, or Toad the Wet Sprocket. I did once buy a cassette by Poison but promptly returned it when I realized they weren't chicks.

    LOL!

Hey, I dig TWS and Prince. Nothing wrong with them. Poison on the other hand, eyuw!

I was just kidding about the buying Poison part. Did think they were chicks though when a buddy showed me the cassette case...and then I looked a little closer.

Yeah, but what about the nelsons? I mean it was only $1 for a bootleg cassette while I was in UAE during Desert Storm. hehe

Desperate times requires desperate measures. I'd say we could forgive you considering the circumstances. 😀

uh, by the way Atomm...I haven't notice that you have "exposed" your sordid musical past here yet. Ante up.
  9. #10
Heh. Better hurry Goose, I'm sure the good seat are going fast. You know how the "old timers" around here are when bands like Styx come to town.

I'll ante up tonight. I'm still trying to decide which album to fess up about..... 😛

You know... I can say I am not ashamed of any of the CD's I have...

Reason: Well, they were bought at a time when I was into that kind of stuff...

So sure, I may not listen to 2 Live Crew anymore, but yes, I own a CD of theirs... And sure, ICE-T is not in my current CD rotation... But yes, I do own a CD... [ Bodycount live was kinda cool BTW ] But taking the RAP out of my CD collection, all other CD's of mine are still great to me...

It takes a lot for me to buy a CD... So I can't really feel bad about any of them...

    So there! 🙂

If we're all fessing up to the skeletons in our musical closets... Billy Ray Cyrus! Ache Breaky Heart...

Just for the record (pun intended!), it was a gag gift a buddy of mine gave me for a birthday... (off the record, I have listened to it a few times since then, but don't tell anyone!)

ephil, You've seen BodyCount live? Wow, I am jealous. I have 2 of their albums and they rock. Matter of fact, I have the one with the "rap" song about Cop killing. Not that I condone it, but it was removed from later versions, so it's somewhat rarer. It always ticked me off to see mainstream media make such a big deal about that song and call it rap. It was Hard Rock, not rap. If you are going to knock it, at least get the Genre right!

Funny story about Ice-T back in the BC days. He came through town and played the Convention Center, about 11k people; sold out. A few months later, he came through as Body Count and played a smaller club venue. I didn't even hear about the show until after it was over. I was really bummed because BC rocked!

Carl, Billy Ray.... Owww, that's bad...

Ok, I guess I can fess up. I own We Are The World on Cassette tape. I actually like it. I was about 12 when I got it, so I guess I can blame it on my youth.

On the flip side, my coolest CD has to be my Autographed copy of Candlebox's first album. Too bad they didn't make it in the long run because I really liked their music.

Atomm, What happened to admitting to owning the complete works of Menudo? Isn't that what you told ephil, goose and I on TS last night? 😄

If we are switching to talking about coolest CD's now, I would have to think on that a bit - and probably look at my collection...which I cannot do while at work.

Whats that Sarge? You can't seem to log onto our new BFV server? Hmmm, strange, it works for everyone else..... :?

Hell, I wouldn't even be able to spell Menudo if you hadn't said it first....

    LOL, that is too funny

So I guess I gotta throw in my two cents.
There is really only one CD that I own that really makes me feel ashamed
Natalie Imbruglia - Left of the Middle
In my defence, I was very young, and this CD taught me the deference
between liking a song and liking an artist. I keep it as a reminder of this very valuble lesson.

btw, I also own Will Smith - Big Willie Style, but that album freaking ROCKS!!!

And if we are going to include favorites then there is only one answer:
    TENACIOUS D - TENACIOUS D
Cause those schooled by Satan rock hardest of all!!!!!!!
  17. #18
man, don't even know if I have a comment for that one BlueGuy... and you know me, it is very uncommon for me not to raz ya. But since you said you were young and you needed the money I wi... oh, wait that was another conversation... sorry I brought it up. 🙂
  18. #19
Yeah, leave out his college experimentation phase... 🙂
  19. #20
    HE SAID HE LOVED ME!!!!
  20. #21
Yea, but is it a Natalie Imbruglia kinda love or a Teancious D kinda love? They ain't the same....
  21. #22
    bump....

    You have WHAT?!?!?!?
  22. #23
Well, I have a decent sized CD/Cassette collection, but do not personally own anything shameful. My wife and I had difficulties last summer resulting in seperate residences for a few months, and as a result, anything i was ashamed of or no longer wanted she got. So TECHNICALLY, they are all hers heheheheh
  23. #24
Hey Natalie Imbruglia is fucking hot... and Left of the Middle is a really good album... don't let nobody tell ya different Blueguy!
  24. #25
Umm, yeah so sometimes I will walk into Sarges' office and hear some stange music, and now that I have thought about it, it was menudo.

Anyways, not that I am admitting to anything, but there is nothing wrong to having a complete collection of Prince. I mean, "just want your extra time and your. k...k....k.... kiss!" how can you go wrong with that??

And Blueguy, I understandx those guys named Bubba will always say they love you... didn't we spend some time in prison together??
  25. #26
    LOL!

Prince rocks. Free from 1999 is one of my all time favorite songs. I also dig America from Graffiti Bridge. Most people don't know those songs, but they are really cool.

Here is a funny story. A good buddy of mine is the lead singer in a metal band. I mean Pantera all the way. Screaming/Singing and frantic movement on stage kind of stuff. Prince was going to be in Dallas. He made a huge deal out of going to the show. He was so hyped up, there were some inuendo about being gay for Prince. He didn't even argue with it. You would just have to see my buddy to see the irony in this. It was so outside his norm, but he was like Bubba, a huge fan.
  26. #27
Prince is great! Free is a good song too Atomm. I've always really liked him, a very original artist all the way, I really like bands like that even if it's a style I'm not usually a fan of.
  27. #28
hi, im new 😛 , i have almost all the cd's of slipknot and very much heavy metal 🙂
