Looks like I'll need a new anti-virus in January. Anybody have one to recommend?

I have liked avast. It runs good, have it on our desktops and our mailserver. Much cleaner than Mcafee.

Thanks guys. I knew some of you had something other than AVG - we talked about it before. I'll take a look at AVAST.

I'm not finding any thing saying that grisoft is going to discontinue supporting their free version... I see that the switch has to be made to 7.5 as Mikey pointed out. Which I did some time ago.

Otherwise, link where you are finding this information. I'm not even finding anything with my news searches.

    Wait a sec... from Grisoft's page (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/21/lng/us/tpl/v5):

    "New Free Anti-Virus

GRISOFT is announcing a new version of the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. This new 7.5 version with improved performance and user interface is available. Users that are using AVG Free 7.1 will be provided with a specific dialog, within the next few weeks, with the opportunity to choose the right option fulfilling their needs. AVG Free 7.1 version will be discontinued on 15th of Jan 2007. "

It;s good to hear that we have other free options available... but you'll have no trouble gettting 7.5 from the looks of things, Doc.
