Ok, for those of you in the over 21 OKC area, we gotta have a beer run sometime soon. My friggin co-workers at the Eye Institute are a buncha bastards and I haven't been to a good happy hour drink after work since I started up here. Who's with me?
Beer Run

#2 Oh man... If I wasn't so whipped I would be with ya on this 🙂 -
#3 Like ephil, I have been beat in submission....... -
#4 Something about alcohol and taking care of patients in the ER don't exactly mix. Now if it was one of my nights off Breaky I would be more than willing to join you for a beer.
You work at Dean A McGee??? -
#5 I work til midnight, but have friday and saturdays off. Barring any interference from my roommate...(wait, the state of oklahoma calls them a "spouse", I'll have to look that up.) I should be able to join a group for beverages lol -
#6 Yeah Racer I'm in research at Dean McGee in the basement. You at OUHSC?
All you whipped ones need to find an excuse for one evening, like "working late." Someone name a good day when most everyone can make it and lets go from there. I have nothing to tie me down most nights so I'm flexible. -
#7 Yea Breaky, I'm at OU. I work in the Trauma Center at Everett Tower. Nights in the ER...woohoo.....7p-7a. -
#8 Yech... I been over there a few times to eat in the cafeteria, too many damn med students tho. That's a hell of a shift to work. I have a cushy 9-5 but it gets pretty damn boring. -
#9 Yea my day can change pretty quickly. And I would have to agree....too many damn med students running around the place. -
#10 Racer, Im sure those nursing students would say "Too many damn nursing student around here" LOL -
#11 Umm...what I meant to say is..those med students would say that. Sheesh..too early in the AM -
#12 Man you have no idea how annoying/ whiny/ self righteous Med students are. I've dated 2 of them now and sheesh...
1st of all, let me break the common perception that anyone with an MD besides their name is smart. Only a fraction of them are. I can honestly say that grad school involves alot more hard work and original thought than Med school does. The med students go to class less than 50% of the time, pay someone to transcribe notes for them then stay at home and study. And they get good grades doing this. It's pretty ridiculous... -
#13 Sounds like the same that happens in the tech field. Microsoft and CompTIA both offer respected certifications. I cant tell you some people that I have met who have alphabet soup after thier name and dont know jack. Now there are exceptions (ephil has qualifactions longer than my arm that I KNOW he is knowledgible, and Goose and KONeo are not only certified, but practice it on a daily basis at work), but in general there are people paying for the test, cramming and never applying the knowledge. I am partially certified (Microsoft Certified Professional and CompTIA A+ certified), and although I'm not the UberTech, I know my stuff and can apply it.
<Getting off soapbox> 🙂
