Buck The Vote!

Personally, I'm tired of what the Democrats and the Republicans are doing to our country in the name of politics. Based on my own beliefs, I lean more towards libertarian more than anything.

However, I am a realist and understand that sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils or at least the person who you feel will best serve your own belief system, yet is electable. Or as it may be, against the person would would least represent you.

Since grass roots starts at home, I've decided that on the state level I will be supporting all libertarian candidates across the board. While on a national level, I will decided to vote based on who I think can best represent me and is electable. If enough people would do this, we could see a swing at the state level. Eventually, that will filter into the national level.

If you feel the same way I do, I suggest you do the same and help spread the word. Before you vote straight ticket, think about Voting Libertarian at the state level and help the grass roots movement spread!

While I agree with alot of your ideas I implore you to think about a few things.

1.) Straight ticket voting should be illegal. By that I mean here in NH you used to be able to check one box on the ballot that would vote for every democrat or republican on the ticket. if you want to vote, take the time to put a mark in a box for every race. Consider who the best person is, don't vote because of party affliation that is part of why we are stuck in a two party system. Many people don't even know there are 3rd party candidates. Take the time to know who you are voting for ahead of time, you will often vote for more than one party if you take the time to really learn about all the candidates.


2.) You don't have to vote libertarian, vote for who is right for you in that race. If its liberitarian then don't hesitate to give them your vote, you aren't wasting or throwing away your vote.

Beyond that I agree we need more people willing to stand up and say I am sick of the Democrat/Repub thing.

one last thing.

Another reason to vote 3rd party or independent. Often times invitations to candidates for future debates are based on past election results. i.e. if libertarians get some percentage of the 2008 presidential vote their 2012 candidate will be invited to the debates.

Now I think anyone should be invited anyways, but that is a whole different story.

Hmm, normally I'd agree with you. I used to grass roots with libertarians here. However in the 15 years or so I've tried to work with them, they can be just as kneejerk as any lib or gop when it comes to positions, some frankly I really disagree with.

With a liberal super majority in the house, senate, and probably exec, I just can't see wasting a vote.
