Awesome, scary, sad. These are the the feelings I had while reading those captions and seeing those pictures.. 🙁
Damn I am stupid, I never realized that one CoD level we play with the devils tower and swimming pool was based off a real place, no less Chernobyl....
Yeah - sad emotions I got here.... Did that level only one time, but remember thinking how anybody is able to create such good realistic surroundings. The tower of the hotel, the playground the "devil´s wheel"..... I was really rushing through tho...
We in Germany were avoiding special foods at that time (in 1986). Such as mushrooms and deer, or wine.... especially of south German origin. The children were adviced not to play in the sand of the playgrounds and I remember picturing the ppl in Chernobyl - the workers - their families... And still we can see documentaries of the effects that Gau had on ppl´s life and health.
