Intresting... light being only a gas of photons but I wonder how this affects one of Einstien's theorys? When approaching the speed of light energy is converted into mass; so therefore, more energy is needed to accelerate but that is then counteracted by the increase in mass. Now if we slow down the actual speed which light travels does this result in less energy? Or does it simply mean that the energy remains in its current state. What about time itself? Assuming that time is only the manifestation of space. How would this affect the spacetime continuum? Though, I do not believe these experiments would lead into any causality. Time being relative that is and we acting as observer....
I read about that a few days ago. I find all kinds of things interesting, but it's damn hard to wrap your head around things when they start getting down to the subatomic level.

I did read the article. I actually LOVE that stuff. I do understand physics more of it than the average person. I have read physics books on my own etc.. Asimov wrote some good introductory Physics books which I own. I have a passing knowledge and am just a hobbyist at best. I suck at higher math so that has always been my personal downfall.
I am just so very far from knowing what I would love to know you know.. 😉
That stuff can just get really weird on the sub atomic level as you said Doc.
I am still to this very day, completely amazed how big space is. If I start thinking about it it just gets more and more interesting. I mean how can something really be infinite? If it is not then what is outside the very edges of it? ARGGGG my head hurts.
BTW, light is composed of Photons, but I have never heard it referred to as a gas. However, it is also a wave at the exact same time. Gets confusing.....

Actually due to the wave-particle duality of matter, light simultaneously exhibits properties of both waves and particles. 🙂
BTW, I read Wired and Discover. That's where I keep finding all of this stuff.....
I've subscribed to both in the past. Used to be another good one called "Omni", but some porn king bought it (Bob Guccione, I think) and it tanked like a year later. Great mags. If I had the money, I'd subscribe to like a dozen mags. . . I love reading.
