Iconic daredevil Evel Knievel dies at 69
CLEARWATER, Fla. - Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.
I loved this guy. He broke over 40 bones in his career. This guy was the inspiration some of us had to form a motocross club when I was younger. Maybe my need for speed and adrenaline began much earlier than UT? 🙂
Ironically, my accident involved a hugh jump also and I suffered for months with only 4 busted bones. I never understood what kept him going back for more.
Evel, you will be missed.
