This caught my eye today as I was scrolling through some of the blogs/web news I look through.

A typical fundraiser marathon where you get pledges per unit of event. Just this time around its hours.. hours of gaming.

The game is to dedicate a 24hr block of time to game, and raise that pledge money for the Texas Children's Hospital. Naked head babies need some saving. Its interesting and I rarely need an excuse to game, but this is one I will take, even if after the first 10 hrs I will be hurting for something else.

I was thinking of starting a GRB team if anyone else is interested.-well- On starting a page I messed up the join a team section and as such am just solo.

    Anyone?

    Bueller?

I don't think that I can dedicate a 24 hour block to this, but I'll gladly make a donation towards your marathon Silent.

    Sounds great Sarge!
Like I said I muffed the team creation anyways, but just wanted to get the word out to any of ya'll that would be interested in either partaking or donating to the cause.

    Well it is done.

Managed to go from 8am-10am straight, only time I wasn't actually playing a game was after 8am. All other times I was in transit I was messing around with my PSP. Managed to play through Brutal Legend and a very large portion of WET, the only reason I stopped playing WET is that I am at a part that requires a darker room than is available to me when the sun is up. And there was a breather of 4 or so hours of DDO with ya'll.

Brutal Legend = Epic Music / a good helping of teh funny / topped off with a good bit of repitition, I honestly don't see myself picking it up again to play. Except to listen to the mixes of music.. and to select a few of the songs to purchase. The game does Metal Right..
    [happy rent 4/5 || mediocre buy 3/5 ]

WET = Epic, we are talking Grindhouse Cinema with a focus on the Kill Bill 'Crazy 88's' fight scene non-stop. A few time keys mixed in for good measure that actually play nice with the action. did I mention epic? At about level 4 of 12 I managed to get over 200 total kills with just pistols [not counting blade/explosion/oops/shotgun/smg kills] that gives an idea of the none stop body count. There are 'rage' mode stages that mixes the whole game in with a Mirror's Edge vibe as everything goes red with baddies as white silhouettes. I am thoroughly enjoying the playthrough, should have started with this on first. Replayability is there but I think some of the platforming frustration might come back and bite that option, hell there was a moment that I flashed back to Battletoads on the NES with the water dodging.. luckily there are checkpoints and unlimited lives.

They talked about WET over at the Naplam Cowboys forums - it's looked chock full of awesome. Lotsa style, very Grindhouse. The sort of thing I might like to watch SOMEONE ELSE play.

Man, I don't know how you did that..... Congrats!

Its very flowy, the more airial acrobatics you do the easier/better you do in the game. It just starts to become typical. It would be a good one to watch if you don't mind watching blood splatter and listen to a fairly well designed girl mouth off about everything and anything, tossing insults that are sharper than her bullets.

    Its nice.

@Atomm, just stay interested and realize that sleep isn't a necessary requirement.

You would be dissapointed, most of what I ate was Cantaloupe, Grapes, Oranges, Apples and then some grilled chicken wraps.. The only bad things that really snuck in were Chik'nBiscuits and only a half box of them, and about three sodas.

Oh and down south Sweet Tea is not a bad thing, just so you know. And it doesn't contain any fruits either, its called sugar, pure and simple sugar.

Simple sugar is still bad for you. Then again all these artificial sweeteners are probably just as bad in the end. I HAVE to use them. I used Splenda mainly but am also tryign out Stevia based sweetners like Truvia.

I love sweet tea myself! Well I love any tea. I am a Iced-tea-olic... it is bad, really bad how much I love iced tea. I can easily drink an entire pitcher myself then want more. I get cravings for iced tea and go out of my way to get it. I am drinking some right now! 🙂
